Gladiator the Film

I have the DVD of Russell Crowe in Gladiator on the shelf but we have just not had the time to sit and watch it. It is very rare that we get three whole hours (or is it more?) to ourselves. Even if we put children to bed..the eldest one goes up and down the stairs like a yo-yo. So if anyone has seen the film maybe they can comment on this article and the film. It's just something I've seen in the paper lately. When I do eventually get to watch the film I know I'll want to read this and try to make sense of it all.

I'm afraid I haven't seen this film. I have a pile of DVDs (but not that one) which I still have to watch. When I retired I imagined I'd watch them on cold winter mornings but somehow I've never got round to them. Also when I buy a DVD they usually put it on the TV about three weeks later.

Regarding the problem with your eldest child - have you considered cutting the string whilst they are unstairs?

I know what you mean Troy. We also for lots of DVDs as wedding presents (as we had everything else) and when we were out in Egypt we thought we could watch them all. That was eight years ago and we still have not got round to watching them! Yes, definitely thought about the cutting of the string. Always try to take her straight back to bed but sometimes we lapse...!

Not to worry, Maggie, and thank you FFF. I quickly scanned the article myself and it looks better than I imagined. Might mean I/we watch it soon...

This is one of my favourite films ever. I have seen it twice and cried both times. When I saw it at the cinema,I had men all around me and they were crying too - it is that good! Watch it!
